In recent years the metal titanium has been found to have many uses. In drill shops, many bits are tipped with Titanium Carbide; in aerospace titanium is used where light, sturdy material is necessary; and of course, in the making of jewelry—wedding rings in particular. Titanium has found new popularity, if you watch for it, you will hear its name used in reference to outdoor items like coats, and to denote particular levels of sellers on online auction sites.
Why is titanium so popular right now? Titanium is popular because it is essentially everything to everyone. Couples who choose titanium for their wedding rings can cite a few good reasons: Titanium is extremely durable, and can withstand everyday life in a much different way than Gold can standing on its own, Titanium is light and easier to cope with than a heavier metal that may never really feel comfortable, Titanium is also a very attractive, darker material than a white Gold is.
Trying to decide what type of ring is right can be tough and ultimately the decision must be made by each couple. I prefer my titanium wedding ring simply because when I go to work around the house, I don’t have to worry about taking my ring off. Whether I have my hands wrapped around a hand-saw, a wrench, or a shovel, I don’t need to be concerned about my ring being worse for wear. I know that my titanium ring will be able to withstand almost anything I can throw at it, and that alone has proved it to be a good choice.
